TREE WITHOUT LEAVES: from September to March
Deciduous tree up to 15m tall. With a rounded crown, it presents erect and not very thick branches. Composite leaves and gray and cracked trunk. Its fruit is a crushed and hairless samara.
Typical peninsular species that lives in fresh soils, preferably siliceous and of relative humidity. Naturally it grows forming closed forests with willows, poplars, alders, maples, hawthorns, gall oaks, etc., so it is advisable not to plant it isolated. Typical species of groves and banks, which can grow in places with high water levels.
